Known for his unique technique - which sees him using canvas stretched over foam, painted with oil enamel to create eye-catching, bright and shiny asymmetrical works - American artist Justin Adian has been subtly gaining prominence over the year.

The Texas-born, Brooklyn based abstract painter, whose works have been described as treading the line between painting and sculpture, developed his technique while trying to create a structure with foam he’d found near his studio, and his pieces have subsequently attracted big collectors such as Michael Ovitz, as well as the critical acclaim of publications including W Magazine. Adian’s most recent show was in London in February 2016, as part of a group exhibition, and we’re hoping we’ll see much more of his work in the UK some time soon.
